Presidential Style Inspired by The Iowa Caucuses

Iowa Caucuses, Office Furniture, Iowa, Des Moines, Election 2016

There are certain facts of life that all Iowans hold dear. We’re super nice, though we remain divided on certain issues, like whether the Hawkeyes or the Cyclones are the better team. Des Moines has been named the wealthiest city in the country, and has topped Forbes’ lists for Best Cities for Businesses and Careers and Best Cities for Young Professionals.

Iowa is known for being the nation’s largest producer of corn and ethanol (and sometimes soybeans), a leader in renewable energy, and for selling a lot of insurance.

We enjoy the praise.

We’ve accepted our position to most of the rest of the country as a “fly-over state”, and we’re ok with the fact that those who think that way will never get to experience a Zombie Burger, sport a snarky t-shirt from Raygun, or get to watch the sun set behind rolling cornfields.

There is one exception to our “fly-over” status. Every four years, Iowa is pushed into the spotlight once again for a nationally followed political event: The Iowa Caucuses.

The Iowa Caucus is the first major electoral event of the nominating process for presidential candidates. They begin to determine who has a real shot at a nomination and who, well…doesn’t. Presidential candidates converge on our beloved state, touring all the counties, holding town hall meetings in local restaurants, visiting state landmarks and colleges. Accompanying them (especially closer to caucus time) are celebrities, musicians, network anchors and the press.

This year, the attention has been doubled, as both the Democratic and Republican Party caucuses will be held on February 1.

In the spirit of the impending Iowa Caucuses, we’ve put together some essential (bipartisan) office furniture and more that will make even the most modest spaces feel positively presidential.
