Welcome to our Pantone Spring color series! This year, Pantone released a vibrant new color palette that we’ve been exploring hue by hue. Today, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’ll be covering Greenery’s dark cousin: Kale.
“Reminiscent of the hues that surround us in nature, our Spring 2017 Fashion Color Report evokes a spectrum of emotion and feeling,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. True to this statement, Pantone’s Kale color makes us feel as if we’re surrounded by foliage in a peaceful forest. Pantone Kale Color
“Evocative of the great outdoors and a healthy lifestyle, Kale is another foliage-based green that conjures up our desire to connect to nature, similar to the more vivacious Greenery,” says Laurie Pressman, Vice-President of the Pantone Color Institute.
Add an earthy touch to your home with this rich shade of green. It’s the color of fern leaves or mossy forest branches, creating a nature-inspired look in any room. This hue is the perfect balancing addition to the more vibrant colors of Pantone’s Spring 2017 pallet. Like a mossy forest floor behind bright spring blooms, the color Kale provides a beautiful backdrop to pops of Flame or Primrose Yellow.
