Rachel’s style: Colorful, bold, chic

Her advice to homeowners:
A lot of people are concerned with resale and it keeps people from taking risks and truly loving their home. Most decisions can be changed affordably before a home goes on the market. If you love mid-century, don’t be afraid to go all out. It may not attract everyone when it’s time to sell but it will really attract the people who are looking for something just like what you have done.

Rachel’s favorite design trend:
It may sound crazy but I am really excited white walls are becoming more of the norm again. Nothing compares to chic white walls and how they can make a well-designed interior truly pop. If you love color, you may tend to paint your walls bright colors but I would encourage someone to paint their walls white and let their colorful furnishings and fabrics really shine. It looks more high-end and timeless this way.

Her favorite room to design:
It’s hard not to love living rooms and kitchens because they are so important to our homes and one can usually go all out with style here. I also really enjoy playrooms, kid’s bedrooms and rec rooms where a client might be more willing to have fun with color and pattern.

Why she shops Homemakers:
Homemakers is a favorite of mine and my clients. I can often have trouble with customer service and delivery at some of the expensive furniture stores online but since Homemakers is local, I can pop in there anytime and really be taken care of. I love how my clients and I can visualize so many furniture styles, fabrics and price points all in one place. Also, I have found that Homemakers is one of the only places in town that sells great transitional decor so it’s my “accessory go-to” for clients with that style.

Marta’s style: Practical, folksy, natural.

Her favorite trends:
I love that bright colors are becoming popular. Colors like emerald, indigo and purple. I like to have a piece of furniture be a stand-out color, then you can pick all kinds of pieces to decorate around it. I also love floral prints and antique plant and animal drawings

Why she shops Homemakers:
The first time I went to Homemakers, I bought my Jonathan Louis sofa. I love how things are set up to look like someone is living there. You can see something you may not have picked by itself, but it looks like a home the way it’s been displayed in the store! I also love that the sofas on display are not traditional colors. I was drawn to the sofa I bought because of its color.

Chelsea’s style: “A happy accident.” I really just go with what I’m drawn to and what fits my husband and me. Then I find a place for it in our home.

Her home styling advice: No need to rush; good things come with time!

Chelsea’s favorite trend: I love everything Joanna Gaines does. She seems to be the trendsetter. The more farmhouse style and shiplap the better!

Her favorite room to style: Most recently, our little one’s nursery! But in general, the living room. It’s where we spend most of our time.

Why Chelsea shops Homemakers: We purchased our couch at Homemakers and designed our room around it! They design, style and post GREAT inspirational style content.

Erin’s style: Classic, rustic, vintage

Her advice to homeowners: If you absolutely love a piece, buy it. You can find a place or a way to incorporate into your home, or use it as inspiration to give a new space a new look.

Erin’s favorite trends: I’m all about wallpaper accents walls. Wallpaper has come a long way since the ‘90s plaid and the wine/grape borders. Floral prints are fun, if used properly! I also love mixing metals like copper, antique gold and oil-rubbed bronze. There are no rules about mixing hardware!

Why she shops Homemakers: Homemakers is always a “go-to” spot for not only myself, but for my clients. Any time furniture is needed in a home update, we are able to find exactly what we are looking for because of the diverse options available. I find inspiration from the every-changing displays at the front of the store!

Erin’s favorite room to design: I’d have to say my favorite is the bedroom. Options are endless when it comes to putting together bedding, colors, furniture and lighting!

Torie’s style: Colorful, modern, country

Tori’s favorite design trend: The first thing I think of when it comes to trends are textures, pillows, wall décor, clocks and lamps with texture. I try to combine trends to create a unique style that fits our ideas and concepts that I can incorporate into our home. I like to do things in odd numbers so anything that can be done in odd numbers I tend to go for. I always enjoy going to Homemakers to see new trends for the year and get more ideas for our home. Currently, I have been creating a type of modern country chic style in our home with some color.

Why she shops Homemakers: Homemakers is usually a one-stop shop for us. It has helped our styling in many ways, including having a wide variety of styles and trends to choose from. When we go to Homemakers, we usually have ideas in mind as to what we are looking for and we are always able to create a unique and personalized style when shopping at Homemakers. The staff are always helpful as well and have great suggestions for style ideas and the latest trends. We are very family driven and Homemakers has allowed us to really create a family-friendly environment in our home that suits our style needs.

Courtney’s style: Eclectic, organic and maximalist

Her home styling advice: Go for it! We spend way too much time in our homes, surrounded by the things we choose to fill them with, to be unhappy with our choices. Be bold and choose things that make you happy. It doesn’t have to break the bank.

Courtney’s favorite design trend: I am loving the mid-century vibes that have come back in full force in the last six months as well as houseplants being front and center design choices! Seeing brass, wicker and plants in one place makes me swoon. I’m also loving the use of darker, more moody paint colors. We’re seeing a lot of deep greens and even blacks. And the Pantone color of the year is greenery– that alone makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Courtney’s favorite room to design: This question is always tough for me. The living room and the kitchen are both so fun, I can’t choose! Remodeling a kitchen is probably my favorite thing, but decorating a living room is a close second.

How Homemakers helps her: I derive great joy from incorporating vintage and repurposed things in a home, but I always prefer to anchor a space with great, high quality, new furniture. And that’s where Homemakers comes in for me. The mix of old and new in a home is what makes it feel like home.
