Jack Frost may be in full swing with his frosty touch outdoors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t come home to a warm and cozy home. To show how to decorate a cozy apartment, we took notes from the masters of snuggly, winter comfort: bears. Not bears of the polar variety…we mean the woodland bears that have perfected the art of a warm, winter nap in a snug den. Who better to model your cozy apartment after?
Pile on your thick winter coat and stock up on food and drinks, because after reading this post you’ll have an apartment that would make even the Yogi himself feel at home. Scroll down to read the seven tips we learned from bears on creating a cozy look and feel in your apartment.

1. A thick winter coat
Keep your apartment as cozy and cuddly as a bear’s thick, fur coat. Throw blankets add a soft touch, and faux fur accents add luxurious appeal that you’ll want to run your fingers through. Don’t forget a stylish coat rack to hold all your actual winter coats.
2. A cozy nook
Create the perfect snuggle spot by choosing the perfect living room furniture. Choose neutral hues, soft lines and warm wood tones to set a relaxed look and feel. Snuggle in with some chic poufs that give you a versatile surface where you can sit, kick back or set a stylish table tray.

3. A bed of fir
Keep your paws protected from cold floors by layering on area rugs. They add a soft touch underfoot that will instantly make your space feel more homey.
4. Excessive food and drink
Create a chic hot chocolate bar by stocking and styling a serving cart in your apartment. Then, enjoy your piping drink while browsing a few of the comfort food recipes we’ve saved on our Pinterest.
5. Sweeping warmth
Cozy up with a fireplace that even Smokey the Bear would endorse. Electric fireplaces are great space heaters, and their realistic, LED flames won’t break any open flame apartment policies.

6. A Woodsy Look
Surround yourself in woodsy style by incorporating natural elements, reclaimed woods and warm, muted tones. This tree bark wall hanging is the perfect décor to bring the great outdoors indoors.
7. Tranquil lighting
Bounce light off walls for a soft, peaceful glow by setting table lamps on your end tables. We also have Woodwick candles on our showroom floor that can add an instant woodsy touch (and smell!)
