Winter may have just officially begun, but here at Homemakers, we’re already thinking spring.
We get so excited when trend forecasts hit the public’s radar, and this season is no different. Ever since we first clicked on the Pantone® Fashion Color Report for Spring 2016, we’ve been dreaming up ways to help you incorporate these gorgeous hues into your home.
Whether you want your space to make you feel more relaxed or more energized, you’ll be a fan of spring’s best colors. They’re inspired by nature and range from soft and soothing to bold and bright, making them the perfect way to transform any home.
“Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,” says Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute™. “With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation.”
That sounds about right to us. To help you freshen up your home, we’re going to go over the spring palette with you, color by color. We’ll talk complementary colors and show you great furniture and accessories that correspond with each hue. Let’s get started!
Color of the Year: Rose Quartz
You might have heard already—in an unprecedented move, Pantone named two Colors of the Year for 2016. One of them is Rose Quartz, a light pink that’s soft, but not overly sweet.
“The soothing, calming nature of colors in the Spring collections are led by PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz, a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure,” Eiseman continues. “Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding flower, Rose Quartz reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the busy but lighthearted spring and summer months.”
