Explore Greenery, the Pantone 2017 Color of the Year!

Pantone Spring 2017 Colors: Greenery

It’s time to burst into a new year of color!

Pantone Color Institute released the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2017 and it is giving us life (literally, since it’s inspired by the vitality of nature)! The report also named Greenery as the color of the year for 2017.

Colors for spring are all drawn from nature. It isn’t uncommon for Pantone to use nature as inspiration but this year is really blowing us away. We can’t wait to delve into the entire 2017 Pantone Color Series in the coming weeks!

“One of the things that we saw this year, was a renewed sense of imagination in which color was appearing in context that was different than the traditional,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

This bright, invigorating shade is meant to inspire the hope of new morning, a new season and a new year. It’s also a palette cleanser of sorts. We’ve become more entrenched in technology and modern society and it’s both refreshing and stimulating to take a step (or several) back and remember nature and the physical world.

Greenery is nature’s energetic neutral that also reminds us to take a deep breath, count to 10 and let that breath out slowly. Let’s start anew in 2017 and revitalize our purpose and place in the world.
